Every Summer we take the kids on a "BIG" bike ride around Stanley Park in Vancouver. They love it. We spend the day biking, on the beach and playing in the park.

Each Summer I pack the kids up and put them to work to pick Raspberries. They are usually good for about an Hour which is just enough time for us to get what we need to make jam.

Every 2 years we have an Evan's Reunion. I initiated the first one in 2008 and this year the torch was passed to my cousin Jason. It is a nice time to see cousins, Aunts and Uncles that are hard to see as we are all over the province and country.

Cayden and Catrina have been friends since Kindergarten. They have been in the same class every year. Sadly Catrina is moving away, not super far but far enough. So we planned one last playdate for them. We decorated cookies, played dress up, had dinner and even did some homework together. Cayden already misses her lots. We hope to visit her in the summertime.

Our Temple is Finally COMPLETE. We are so excited to invite our Friends and Family to visit the Vancouver LDS Temple in Langley for the next 2 weeks for tours before it is dedicated. It is a beautiful building inside and out. I know that there will be many memories made at this House of the Lord.

I have been a member of the Church for 15yrs, and I never thought this day would come. We are so blessed to have a Temple only 15 mins from our front door now. We use to travel to Seattle, the nearest temple, about a 3 hr drive and had to cross the border which would sometimes add an extra hour to the travel time. This will allow us to attend the temple more often and regularly.

Treats for the classmates.

Sugary non nutritional breakfast to celebrate the Irish. Why NOT?

It was Hat Day and St. Patty's day. Might as well combine the two.

Stew, Soda Bread, Green Salad, Green Juice.

It took me a while but I finally found my Favorite Soda Bread Recipe.

2 cups of Sifted Flour
2Tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1 cup of Currants or Raisins (I do Raisins)
1 cup Buttermilk

Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add Buttermilk. Stir until blended. Turn out onto floured surface and knead about 8 times.Shape into ball. Cut a cross in the top and place on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 40 minutes.

It will look funny when it comes out but man it sure tastes good. PS has a harder crust.

We LOVE the real tree. Daddy tried to convince me to just use the artificial one that we have. NO WAY, it must be REAL. We have so much fun trying to pick out just the right one and the right size I might add. The place we go to is a big field FULL of BIG trees, no house no shed just TREES. Lots to choose from and most with the thick needles which we like.

Grandma Wendy flew over 4 provinces to be with her oldest Granddaughter for her Baptism. Grandma gave a beautiful talk on Baptism.

For refreshments after the baptism we enjoyed ice cream sundaes.

It was such a wonderful day full of Love.

For our Activity we will be picking someone we know who could use some uplifting. Each week we will provide a service to someone. We will be doing this until the end of the year. My Goal is to teach my children the true meaning of compassion and service and hope that they can feel the spirit of Christmas a little more this year.

Tonight we are going to go out as a family and purchase some baking supplies and cupcake papers, then take them to a lady who loves making muffins and treats for others.

I can not begin to express how excited I am to take on this project with my family.

I will update you on how it goes and my challenge is that you and your family try this for at least one week and blog about it or leave a comment on this post about your experience.

I have been a fan of Colbie's ever since Angie introduced me to her music about 3 yrs ago. She was unsigned at the time and had not made a name for herself yet. Well most know who she is now. She has such a beautiful voice and I find her music very soothing. So when I caught wind that she was going to be performing in Vancouver I was GOING no matter what.
I was able to get my girls on board and the rest is history.

Our New Sept. camping destination. It is Fabulous.

The site are great all Grass so you are not sleeping on ROCKS.
Clean bathrooms, Activities, Swimming and Quiet.

The weather was not great but that has never stopped us before.

I am starting another blog. "Where does she find the time?" I have heard this on many occassions and basically it all depends on how you decide to USE your time. For some they like to spend an hour watching TV at night. For others, they like to watch a favorite show while making a treat for the classroom. It is all about Choices, but there are LOADS of ideas online to cut down the amount of time it takes to come up with those cute treats for the classroom.

So this site is designed to give you more time. I am going to post various ideas that I find online. So it is almost like an index if you like. I will post craft ideas, party ideas, Money Saving Ideas and tips, Parenting ideas and basically anything that I LIKE. lol

{Long Overdue visit}

On our way to our Alberta Camping spot we made an overnight stop at our BF's home in Calgary. Finally a visit with them. Long overdue.
We were welcomed with open arms and some good home cooking from Tammy. She made us a lovely dinner and for a midnight snack. MMMM deep fried chicken wings. Tammy knows how to please.

We were playing some Wii when we heard some wierd noises from upstairs. We went to check it out and HOLY MOLY!! A lightening/Thunder/Rain/Wind/Hail storm like nothing any of us had EVER seen. It made for some great night time entertainment.

Kelsey - Hiya!!

Brinley the newest addition. Only 10 days younger than Eric.What is a visit to Tammy without a little trim. The ONLY one to cut Evan's hair with out him SCREAMING.

Awe we are so cute. 11 yrs the 4 of us have been friends. Tammy and I have been friends for 14yrs. WOW hard to believe that one. 7 kids later and we are still smiling.

{Enchanted Forest}

Day one of our vacation. First stop the Enchanted Forest just before Revelstoke, BC. It was well worth it. We spent about 2 1/2 hours here. It was so much fun and they have done such a great job on the place. I highly recommend a visit here and I can see us not passing this place by again.

Cayden completed her run of Summer School. She was in need of some extra reading help and this gave her just what she needed to be ready for Grade 3.

Miss W is a wonderful motivating teacher. Cayden really enjoyed her time with her.

{A date with my Boys}

When you have 4 kids you have to divide and conquer sometimes. Tonight was a night for me and my 3 favorite guys.

Grandma and Grandpa took the girls for a sleepover. Daddy and Me wanted to see Harry Potter so the best solution was the Drive In with the boys. First stop Boston Pizza for some dinner. We arrived at the Drive in 1hr early. WHOA we should have made that 90 mins early, but we found a spot. By the time the movie started the place was sold out with 400 vehicles.

We love going to the Drive In during the summer. It is only 3 mins from our house so the late night drive home is not too bad.

He slept and slept and slept the ENTIRE NIGHT. Thank you my boy.

Bound and determined to take my kids berry picking this year. We headed to Krause Farms early in the morning to beat the heat. Raspberries were ripe for the picking. So buckets in hand off we went. Let me say my kids are PROS at picking them. We had 2 ice cream pails full in no time.

The Table was set beautifully in true Tricia fashion.The girls all got feather boas that were placed on the back of their chairs.

That Ricky sure is Tricky. ;-). A friend called me up to let me know about a Magic Show at the Library. So I packed the kids up and off we went. It was a cute show and WHOA what a lot of kids. The girls loved it. A lot of clumsy humor which they loved.

Another baby in our home means another blessing. The morning started rough. I was emotional, which is not uncommon lately. I could not find the outfit I had bought for my sons to be blessed in, and I was missing my in-laws tremendously. After a quick talk with a dear friend I was able to compose myself and realize that all that would not change the importance of the day.

My son was being blessed by his Daddy.

It was a beautiful blessing and I could feel the love of my Heavenly Father.
As it was Fast Sunday, I got up and bore my testimony which I have done after all my children's blessings. It is extra special when my family come to church. I truly enjoy having them with me and beside me during Sacrament Meeting.

We had a wonderful Canada Day. This year I was in charge of putting on a pancake breakfast. It was a great turn out, almost 200 people. There was plenty of Food, Games and Socializing.

The day was PERFECT. After clean up we headed to the Ag-Rec for some Free family fun. It was sooooo HOT out. We only spent a couple hours and then decided to head over to Grandpa's house for a wiener roast. Then back home we went to watch a movie and go to BED.

Unfortunatley my camera batter died when we got to the Ag- Rec. DARN IT. Never did get that family pic of us in our matching t-shirts. Guess we will have to take one later.

Each Monday we have what is called Family Home Evening. It is a night for us to just be together, have a lesson on something spiritual or something that we feel our children need to learn about. Then we have an activity and a snack and usually by then it is bed time.

This past week we felt the need to make some "changes". Since the arrival of our newest addition to the family the kids have been acting out in a manor not pleasing to Mommy and Daddy. And to be fair Mommy and Daddy have not been acting in a manor pleasing to kidlets.

So there is a story in the Book of Mormon about how the Anti-Nephi-Lehies buried up their weapons of war and promised not use them again. Alma 24:12-21

Another Father's day to celebrate how great the Dad's are in my life.

I am blessed with an amazing Husband who is an amazing Father to our children. He plays with them, he teaches them, he loves them. He was raised by wonderful parents who taught him well.

I am blessed to have a Father who loves me and is always watching out for me. I am an only child and I think that has made the bond between me and my Dad even stronger. Plus we are ALOT alike. He loves his grandchildren and they adore him in return.

I am blessed by a wonderful Father in law. I wish there were not so many miles between us so we could share a tin of smoked oysters together.;-) He always knows how to put a smile on my face.

I am also blessed to have a Brother in law who is also an amazing Father to my niece and a wonderful Uncle to my kids. My kids love to jump on and play with Uncle Chris.

I have a Step Father as well who loves us and his grandchildren. He looks out for us and is always there to help when the need arises.

Well, This is how we celebrated 10yrs. Since we could not go on the honeymoon we never got, this was a great plan B.

We were early so we decided to go for a walk.

I have the BEST friends EVER. With us EVERY baby should be celebrated and that means SHOWER. We don't like the thought that just because you are on your 4th baby that there is NOTHING you need. Let me tell you with 4th baby you need EVERYTHING. Why? Because it is all breaking down or Stained or in pieces.

My girls made me feel very loved. They are such an amazing group and I love them all so much. We played some fun games that Tricia had brought. Had yummy food and had lots of baby talk. Eric got some adorable little outfits. It was just lovely!!

I did not even get any photos of my hostesses. Darn it. Tricia and Angie, Thank you so much you gals are awesome and I love you tonnes. FYI Tricia has 4 kids and Angie has 5, and they still had time to celebrate my 4th. lol Also, Thanks to Lynette who opened her house up for the occasion and she has 3 kids. Yep we are doing our part to populate the earth. lol

{10 yrs WOW}

THENNOW

Sean and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on June 8th. WOW can not believe it. 10 years and 4 kids later we are still going strong.

The day consisted of Sean going to work, Parent Teacher meeting over oldest child, playing in the park and dinner. There was no way I was COOKING dinner so we packed the kids up and off we went to Olive Garden. Now this does not happen EVER, we never take our kids out to a restauraunt so we had to lay down the RULES. They did pretty good. Let me tell you that if you want to take your kids out go to OLIVE GARDEN. It is loud enough to drown out your kids noise and the salad and bread are practically enough to fill up the kids. We all had a wonderful dinner and it only cost us ... wait for it... $60. Not to bad for a nice dinner out feeding 5.

The kids gave it 3 thumbs up. Eric would have too but he was too busy sleeping.

It was a nice way to celebrate 10yrs. With all the kids with us. It was not Hawaii or Mexico or Cruise but it was nice none the less.

PS. We do not recommend having a baby 1 month before your 10 yr anniversary.

The BIGGER celebration will happen NEXT weekend. Wait for Post. ;-)

The house was clean and we had a FREE day. A rare occurance in our house. So we went to White Rock. Such a great place to go for a walk, some time on the beach, collecting sea shells and of course some ICE CREAM.

So they got to go to the movies and see UP! Which was fabulous. Cayden then got to go to her FIRST sleepover. Excited just is not the right word for it. So she was eager to say good bye to me at the movie theatre and off she went. She stayed up until Midnight and was up at 6 am in true sleepover fashion. I am sure there was lots of giggling going on and she had a blast.

Well with just having a baby my creative juices were not function at there highest levels. But, I did manage to put together a summer tote bag with some Freezer Swivel Sticks together for the Preschool teachers. I like to be able to give them something other than Chocolate, Flowers and Gift Cards. Although those are very nice, they get lots of that kind of thing already.

The teachers were AWESOME and I wanted to make sure they knew how much I appreciate them. They truly made my lil girl feel special, which makes a teacher a GREAT teacher.

My Little Darling has GRADUATED...preschool that is. ;-) The teachers made it such a special day for the kids. They were so thrilled to get a scroll and a book.

As they went up to get there scroll Miss. Sherri read this about my girl:

This year we went out to Bradner for the annual parade and festivities. I use to go to this parade every year as a kid but had not been for a long time. We enjoyed the May pole dancing, games, food and most of all the parade and the BIG haul of candy the kids got.

It was a challenge going out together for the first time as a family of 6 but we managed and Eric slept almost the entire time so that made mommy happy. ;-)

I received the BEST Mother's Day gift I could have asked for. A brand new baby boy to love for the rest of my life.

Eric was born at 1:52 am on Mother's Day (May 10th). After a fierce 2 1/2 hrs of labour he came into the world after 3 BIG pushes.
Weighing 9lbs 2 oz and 22 inches long.

All in all it was a good delivery and he came quickly to spare me any more back labour than needed. Thanks for that my lil prince.

The Hospital was GREAT, my Husband was GREAT, my Midwife was GREAT.

The preschool had a special Tea for the mom's. It was so nice to have that special time with my lil princess. We enjoyed Raspberry Tea and Yummy cake. We were then treated to some special musical numbers and a story "I'll love you forever", which made all the moms tear up.

Just in time to have my lil baby. Needed to get a new hair do...DESPERATELY. So off I went to Spa Utopia for the ROYAL treatment. Jenna did an amazing job and spent the time to show me how to style it with ease. YEAH!!

This is the SHORTEST I have ever had my hair and so far I am LOVING it. After the baby arrives it will be time for a new colour too.

Excuse the messy bathroom. Remember I am 40 weeks pregnant.

My lil niece turned 5 this past weekend. So we packed up the fam and headed to Chilliwack, and it WAS Chilly. ;-) The kids kept warm by playing some baseball and soccer in a field. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday Afternoon. The girls love seeing Evelyn and it had been about a month since they saw her last so they had loads of fun running around and playing.

Last week thanks to facebook I was re-united with 2 friends from high school. It was great to see them again and to update each other on our lives and remember the past. Our lives have each taken us in different directions over the past 15 yrs (ouch) but we can still get together and have a good laugh together. We hope to be able to get together again when our dear friend Phonnaly moves back from Toronto in about a month.
